Mindoro Mission Trip
December 29, 2007
Twenty-four of GPCC's enthusiastic, praising, worshiping and loving missionaries traveled from coast to coast to reach out and touch our Aeta and Mangyan brothers in Mindoro. It was really an exciting journey, a mission that transformed the lives of many people.
Three days and two nights of worship, fellowship and fun...
Each family performed their special numbers, mostly of their choice of Christmas carols, on the first night. The Aetas and Mangyans also did their numbers. One of these was a Filipino version of the song, Still (Hillsong Australia), sang by the Aeta youth. And we wanted to hear that again!
On the second day, the Kids Ministry taught the children how to take care of their bodies by taking a bath, combing their hair, brushing their teeth and trimming their nails. The elders of the church also encouraged the brothers and sisters by their testimonies, our pastors taught them God's word while the youth also held their games, prayers and fellowship at the field.
God was at work during the last night of praise and worship. Everyone had their own chance of sharing their experiences, encouragement and praises to God. Oh what a night it was!
After that the congregation, led by Pastor Rodolfo dela Cruz, prayed for us as we leave for tomorrow.
We brought with us seven young people, 5 Aetas and 2 Mangyans, to be fostered by 7 GPCC families for a week.
Photos are available at our Gallery.
