DVBS Kanluran
April 26, 2008
The much awaited Daily Vacation Bible school for kids was held last April 24-26, 2008. This 3-day activity took place at the Briones’ residence and it was a blast! It has been 4 years since GPCC had its DVBS in Barangay Kanluran and it was really a blessing for the Kids Ministry, as well as to the Kanluran children to have it back again.
The theme of this year’s DVBS is “Knowing Christ”. Teachers used a different approach in teaching the kids in praising, worshiping and most especially in evangelizing. Classes started at 9 o’clock until 11 o’clock in the morning. The children were divided into two levels: Sister Gina Briones handled level 1 (ages 4 to 8 years old) and Sister Grace Ureta handled level 2 (ages 9 to 13 years old). Activities include: learning the parables and miracles of Jesus, teaching the correct way of praying, singing, dancing, exciting crafts and fun games. At the end of every session, the kids had the chance to hear the story of Amy Carmichael, an Irish missionary to India . And of course, nobody would forget the delicious snacks and refreshments that were served during their break time.
The highlight and most exciting part of this event was when the kids accepted Jesus as their Lord and personal Savior. All in all, everybody had fun learning, knowing more about Jesus and making friends with other kids.We are very grateful for all the support from our Brothers and Sisters at GPCC and for the volunteers of Neaniskos and Lilies of the Valley.
